I’ve finally put the finishing touches on the back porch and to celebrate I decided to break out the ice cream freezer and make some old fashioned, homemade ice cream! Since it’s peach harvest time here in Pennsylvania, I knew I wanted to make peach ice cream. I found a fantastic recipe from Southern Living magazine that had 5 star ratings, and now I know why it received such high reviews! It’s so yummy and full of fresh, peach flavor and is super easy to make! At the end of the post, I’ll share the recipe with you!
I got a some bright striped dinnerware for serving out on the porch – I thought the colors were super fun!
Summertime Peach Ice Cream Recipe
Combine peaches and sugar. Let stand for one hour. Process peach mixture in a food processor (I use this one) until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides. Stir together the evaporated milk and pudding mix in a large bowl. Stir in the peach puree, condensed milk, and half-and-half. Pour the mixture into the freezer container for a 4-quart hand-turned or electric ice cream freezer. Freeze according to the freezer manufacturer instructions. Spoon into an airtight container and freeze until firm. Or, if you can’t wait, scoop some in a bowl and eat it fresh from the freezer. It will be softer, but oh so delicious!!!
