Make a Bird Nest Charger for your Spring Table

It’s a beautiful, sunny day here – feels like spring!  Fingers crossed that it lasts!  Today’s post is all about getting the look for less!  It’s one of my favorite things to do!  If I see something that I love at a high end store, I try to think of a way to recreate that look for less!  Sometimes it just isn’t possible!  But, many times you can get the look for less. Have you seen the Pottery Barn’s bird nest charger?   I’m not sure if they sell them any more, but I love the look for spring!

And, here is my bird nest charger.  It’s a 12″ Dollar Tree grapevine wreath!

These thin, $1 wreaths are the perfect size to “nest” my dinner plate.  If you can’t find the grapevine wreaths at the Dollar Tree, check your local craft store.  I especially liked the ones from The Dollar Tree because they were just the right size.  They were just what I needed to get the bird nest look for less!  You can see the entire birdhouse tablescape details HERE.

How did you make the wreath into a full charger? I have been stalking ebay for pottery barn bird nest chargers for weeks ? I love yours!!! I'd love to make my own, could you let me know how you did it? I love following you, your tables capes are a HUGE inspiration! !!

Hi, Cortney. It really isn't a "full charger". But, with the plate already on top of it, you don't know that. It's really just a grapevine wreath placed under the plate. Measure the dinner plate you will be using and then try Dollar Tree first, but if you can't find any there, check out the craft stores. I hope this helps!

Wow I really like your spring tablescapes. I am decorating 3 round tables for a small church function on 3/13. I went to Target and found these cute plastic baskets green, yellow , and lavender with handles that can go up or down. Then off to the dollar store for my green grass, eggs and eggs on a string. Then I found at the thrift store a jewelry tree with a ceramic knob on top. My neighbor said paint it white and put a paper dollie on the tray and fill with candy. So that is where I hung my eggs, put the dollie , and candy. Then I took pattered scrap book paper and cut out birds and put them on the tree. I used twine to attach birds to tree. And egg shaped candy. In the baskets I put dollar store eggs, ceramic chicks from joann's,noticed the wrapping paper for the chicks were brown wood pattern. Brain storm crosses , so I cut out crosses and used dark brown card stock for the back and glued them together. They sit across the grass . Sorry so long, but dollar store has so many items.
