Acorn Necklace for Your Fall Wardrobe

This acorn necklace is the perfect accessory for your fall wardrobe!  The necklace comes in a black jewelry box with a sweet scripture card and an oak leaf gift tag; which makes it a great gift!

I introduced this little acorn necklace last year and it was a huge success!  So, my intent was always to bring it back this fall!  With the challenges this year, it’s been much harder to get things shipped.  I was only able to get a limited supply of the acorn charms and jewelry findings needed to make these necklaces, so I only have 40 total this year!

The acorn is a symbol of strength.  From one tiny acorn, a mighty oak grows.  When I think of strength, this verse comes to mind:  She is clothed in strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.  Proverbs 31:25.   The acorn is also a symbol of new life, so acorn pieces are often gifted to new or expectant mothers.  Aside from the symbolism, I really love wearing nature inspired pieces.

I wanted this necklace to be affordable for everyone!  So, I made this little necklace in brass, rather than sterling silver or gold.  Each necklace is made by hand.  Last year many of you requested a longer chain.  So, this year I have the necklace in both 18 inches and 24 inches.  The dainty brass chain links are all soldered and has a lobster claw clasp.  The acorn charm is 19 mm x 12 mm.  The version last year also had a tiny pinecone charm.  I wasn’t able to get those pieces, so this year’s version has just the acorn charm.  In all honesty, I removed the pinecone charm from my necklace last year and wore it with the acorn alone.  I prefer the simplicity of just the acorn charm.  Both the chain and charm have a slight oxidized finish that gives the necklace a vintage feel.

THE PERFECT FALL ACCESSORY

I’ve been wearing this necklace nonstop since the beginning of September.  I wore it for a while because I wanted to make sure it didn’t tarnish before selling them.  And, I’m pretty impressed!  I haven’t noticed any tarnish, except a tiny bit on the lobster claw clasp.  And, it’s just a small amount.  Otherwise, the necklace looks the same after one month of daily wear.  Now, I was careful not to get the necklace wet and keep it away from any perfume.  And, I did take it off at night.

I also simplified the packaging this year by using a black jewelry box.  And, instead of a separate card, I had the information for the acorn and scripture printed directly on the necklace card.  The music printed oak leaf is now a gift tag that can be attached to the box for gifting.  The box will be tied with gold twine, so it will be ready for gifting!  I think this could be a sweet little gift for girlfriends, daughters, nieces, etc.   Or, you could place one on each girl’s place setting at Thanksgiving table.

Now, for the most important part – how much does it cost?  I’ve kept the price the same this year at $15 plus Priority Mail shipping.   All the items I sell in my Etsy shop are handmade by me and help me with the expenses of my blog.  So, I really appreciate every purchase!

I really love this necklace. I would want a much longer chain. And would like to know if you would be willing to ship to Canada.

I'm just before ordering this necklace. I think it's really pretty, unusual and a wonderful piece of seasonal jewelry. You've given a lot of thought to the materials used and taken care to confirm that the quality will still be there after it is worn repeatedly. It's affordable and I love that you include the scripture card. What a good testimony to send to the recipient with the acorn necklace. All that said, I'm really eager to see what you are doing for Christmas!
