Happy Tuesday! It’s a bright, sunshiny day in Pennsylvania and the crazy groundhog didn’t see his shadow? I don’t understand the groundhog’s prognostications, but I’ll take an early spring!
But, it’s still winter and there’s snow on the ground, so today I wanted to share a few things that I’ve done to tide me over until I can go full on spring with my decor! Let’s start with my winter living room. I’ve been working on some new pillow cover designs with wool felt applique. What do you think of these arrow pillow covers?
They are a hint of the coming Valentine’s Day holiday, without being pink and red!
I found a new tin cake stand that I love and topped it with some faux winter greens, pinecones, antlers, and fresh tulips from the grocery store.
I love tulips anytime of year and I’m particularly fond of white tulips in the wintertime! I added a few sprigs of seeded eucalyptus from Trader Joe’s to the tulip bouquet. I also added some antlers and frosted sugar cones to the vignette.
I took down my ski lodge gallery wall, but wasn’t ready to put away the twig stag head. So, I moved it to hang above the library table. I used a Dollar Tree grapevine wreath and tucked some seeded eucalyptus into the branches to add a touch of green and hung it around the deer’s head.
I’ll be back soon to share more of my winter living room, which includes something I purchased at the World Market PA grand opening! You can see a hint of it in some of these shots.
Of course, I couldn’t help snapping a pic of Sadie perched on the back of the chair looking at all those robins in the front yard! Maybe we will have an early spring – fingers crossed!
