Fall Front Porch

Even though the weather today felt more like summer than fall,  my front porch entryway is all ready for the fall season!   I made my wreath for the front door with corn husks and a few faux berries and fall leaves mixed in for color!
I like having a storm door, but not when it comes to taking photos – it’s hard not to get myself in the picture with the door’s reflection!  So, I have views from the right and also the left!  I’ve got a real mixture of elements – straw bales, mums, pumpkins .  .  .  but I’m pretty happy how it came together.

The lantern is from Pottery Barn and I purchased it at the outlet in the spring for a steal!  Here it holds a large battery operated candle with some chestnuts and walnuts at the base.
The cabinet door chalkboard announces that Fall is Here!
Here’s the view from the left – I was peeking through the lavender!
The crock is filled with tree branches and some sorghum.  The oversized pumpkin is a new variety for me – I love the pale cream and orange color!  An old wire basket holds a rust colored mum wrapped in burlap!

This chippy little piece of wood still holds some rusty hinges on one end.  It must have been a small cabinet door.  I bought it a long time ago because I loved the color!  It’s very similar to the color of my front door!   A local craftsman made the numbers from a piece of rusty tin – 50 is our house number.   I hot glued the tin numbers to the chippy wood and propped it against the straw bale!   I am loving the orange color of the pumpkins against the chippy aqua blue wood!I’m still working on other fall projects and will be back later this week with more to share!

I love your wreath! Did you do a blog with DIY instructions for that? I would really like to make one for myself.
