Do you have a Fall wreath for your front door? Don’t go to the store and buy one off the shelf! Today I’m going to show you how to make a knock off of an Anthropologie corn husk wreath that I fell in love with on their website.
This is a basic corn husk wreath that (can you believe) they sell for $58! Now, here’s my version!
And, the best part – you only need two items to make this wreath. The first is a package of corn husks from the grocery store! Here’s a picture of the corn husk package I purchased. They can be found in the international section of most grocery stores for about $7.50. I used almost the entire package on my wreath.
The other thing you will need is a twig base for your wreath. Here’s what I did. I had a wreath from a few years ago that had fall yellow sunflowers flowers on it. I just removed the flowers from the twig base and reused the base for this wreath. If you don’t have a wreath that you can repurpose, then use a 50% off coupon for the craft store to buy a twig wreath to use as your base.
The first thing you need to do is tear the corn husks into 1 inch strips.
Begin hot gluing the strips onto the wreath base starting at the inside circle. Glue each strip overtop and slightly overlapping the strip before as shown below.
Continue the whole way around the wreath and then continue with a second row, and so on, until the entire wreath is covered.
Here’s a look at my completed wreath on the front door! I love the light look against my aqua blue door (Benjamin Moore Mill Springs Blue).

Looking great!
I have never seen corn husks sold here in Canada.
But I could use the husks off my corn when I'm finished with them I guess!

Yes my aunt made us lots of things from corn husks on their farm!

I can believe the price since Pottery Barns sells plastic pumpkins for $59! Love your knockoff.

Oh yes this is quite striking!! What a good idea! My sister and I were just talking about Anthropology. I like the direction of your wreath. Thx also for clear instructions. I'd have otherwise been lost on how to do this task!

What a beautiful wreath! I’d love to make one just like this but as Linda mentioned above, I’ve never seen corn husks sold in Canada. It could be we just don’t have enough tamale makers living up here. Just one more reason to do some cross-border shopping again! My husband IS American and tge rest of his family live down in AZ and I’m betting there is no shortage of corn husks available down there. ?

I’m sure you’re right that there should be no shortage of corn husks available in AZ!! The new World Market store is just outside Philadelphia – but you can always order online!

You can buy the corn husk you use to wrap homemade tamales. My friend did it that way and it’s absolutely adorable
