Happy Friday! Today I’m kicking off fall on the blog with my Fall living room and dining room spaces! I know the leaves haven’t even begun to change color and the pumpkins are just beginning to appear at the market, but today is all about inspiration – and lots of it! I’m sharing my fall home as part of the Fall Home Tours hosted by my friend, Marty, at A Stroll Thru Life. The tours kicked off on Monday and today is the final day of tours! At the end of this post, I’ll share the entire tour schedule with links to each home – so you can visit each one over the weekend! If you’re here visiting from Thistlewood Farm, welcome! Karianne always inspires with both her words and gorgeous home! And, she has recently released her third book – You’ve Got This – Because God’s Got You (52 devotions to uplift and encourage). I just ordered my copy and can’t wait to add it to my Karianne Wood collection! You can read more about the book HERE.

Now, onto the tour. Let’s start in the living room. I decided to change things up a little bit this year and use colors that aren’t the traditional fall shades of red, orange, and yellow. Instead, I’ve used shades of green and white in my fall decor.
For me, my decor always starts with my mantel! I found the most amazing variety of pumpkins/aka squash in various shades of green. A few branches of eucalyptus branches and it was done! You could do this with a variety of white pumpkins or orange pumpkins too! The many varieties of pumpkins you can find today are so beautiful!
The sign above the mantel is actually a downloadable print that is available in my Etsy shop. It’s a chalkboard print that you can download at home and have printed at your local office supply store as an engineering print. Mine is 24 x 36″ and was under $5 to have it printed! It can be printed as a green chalkboard like mine or a black chalkboard. You can purchase the print HERE.
You know I love black and white buffalo check and I found these amazing textured buffalo check pillows at Pier1. Unfortunately, I don’t see them online, but you could check your local store. The green tassel pillows are from my favorite source pillow covers – H&M Home. The round faux fur pillow is from Target and is soooo soft. The hydrangea prints above the sofa are from Brittney Gurr Prints.
Here’s a close up of those amazing shades of green!
And, here’s a look at my entryway. I just added a few more pillows and another cozy throw, because you can never have too many cozy throws in the fall! You can still order the butterfly canvas in my Etsy shop HERE.
Here you can see a bit of my vintage player piano that I purchased earlier this year. It still needs to be tuned, but the player works and I’ve got to make a video to share it with you soon! It’s so much fun!
Now, lets head into the dining room and kitchen.
The dining room and kitchen spaces are decorated with more green and white. I think a cotton wreath works well for fall. I moved my fern to a natural wood planter and added some pretty white pumpkins and a vintage green dictionary on top of the black dresser/buffet.
For early fall, I kept my table pretty simple with green striped tablecloth with fun tassels and a hydrangea and eucalyptus arrangement. The pie is homemade, just not by me!!! I picked it up at a local farm stand. This fall I want to have more friends and family over. Enjoying the company of friends and family doesn’t require a perfectly styled home or being in the kitchen all day cooking a fancy meal. Invite someone over this fall and serve store pie bought from the store or bakery and coffee!
And, here’s my kitchen cart and shelves. Just a few more white pumpkins and more of those pretty green Kabocha squash and some eucalyptus in the vintage scale.
And, I also picked up some mini Bartlett pears while I was at the farmer’s market!
Thanks for stopping by today to see my fall home! Next up on the tour schedule is Anita from Far Above Rubies, whose gorgeous home is in the mountains of North Carolina and in the path of Hurricane Florence. My thoughts and prayers are with Anita and her family, as well as everyone in the path of the hurricane.

I have never seen such gorgeous green colored pumpkins/squash. They look so pretty on your fireplace. It’s the perfect shade of green sprinkled throughout. Just love it Doreen.

Thanks so much, Julia! Those pumpkins were my best find this fall!!!
Marty Oravetz
Doreen, your home is always so beautifully done and so inviting. I love how you’ve used all the shades of green as your inspiration for fall, absolutely perfect. Every room is a delight to see and your vignettes are full of inspiration. Thanks so much for joining the tours, always such a delight.

Loved this week of tours, Marty! Thanks for everything you do!
Anita
I am loving your green so very much!! And those green pumpkins are so fabulous! We have a local farm that grows those, and I can’t wait to pick some up. And you are so right about just inviting someone over for store-bought pie! Love that so much. Love your kitchen as well:-)
Thank you so much for your concern about Florence. It looks like the worst imaginable scenario for the eastern part of the state currently, so incredibly heartbreaking for everyone down east. Hopefully it will break up and speed up as it heads through SC, then back through the mountains. Everyone here is really prepared and hopefully it will move on through quickly with minimal damage.

So glad to hear you are all okay! It was great being on the tour with you this week!

Doreen your mantel is just perfection. I love the way the subtle green pops against the black. I also love your black and white check on the pillow and the check on your wallpaper. You have outdone yourself!
Nancy
I just found you thru the fall tour. Love your home and love how you use green. It is my favorite color and my living room is painted green. I’m thinking of downloading your autumn sign but will have my daughter help me thru the steps! First time to download! Will look perfect on my fireplace. I think I met a new friend today! I’m coming for some of that pie!!
Marlene Stephenson
It truly looks like Fall in your beautiful house, thank you so much for the lovely tour and ideas i received from it.
Gwen
Your style has evolved too!! I like this new look. It seems unique to you. It’s simpler. You have beautiful things showcased but it seems like you are changing from a farmhouse all white look to a style that includes accents. I love how this looks unique to you. It doesn’t feel staged but like it’s you. I don’t know how you do it, but your look is ever changing yet you keep many things the same. I didn’t remember your round mirror update with the armed light above. It makes that area seem very up to date yet still has the buffet I love Now in this black color. I like how you closed the doors of your hutch to give the kitchen a new look. I like the Autumn sign in the living room which brings in the green which you add in other places. I do hope you can have company over. I miss not being to do that. It used to be such a big part of my life. The pie looks wonderful!! Enjoy!

I am not sure where this message should go, but I am trying to subscribe. in fact, several times, but the email to confirm has not shown up after several hours. I do love this blog and its style, so I hope this glitch can be rectified! Thanks for any help you can give.
Doreen Cagno
Bonnie, Could you check your email spam folder to make sure it didn’t go there. Thanks. Doreen

I love that you chose to use green as your fall color. It’s absolutely beautiful with your black and white decor! Hope I can find those pillows at my Pier 1. So cute!
Doreen Cagno
Thanks so much, Cindy! I’ll be sure to share if I do find those pillows online!

I would have never thought to put these colors together but it looks super. I’ve put off doing much fall décor yet as it’s still in the mid ’90s here on the Florida west coast! This has got me in the mood! I’d love to know where you found your storage cart that’s shown under your shelves…. Thanks.
laura janning

Pamela
Doreen everything looks beautiful and I love the hydrangea artwork.
carolyn
Hi Doreen…. I live in Lancaster Pa and was wondering if you could tell me where you bought your beautiful green pumpkins? My living room is green and blue and would love to decorate with those pumpkins too!
Doreen Cagno
Hi, Carolyn! I found them on Route 322 at a farm stand near Blue Ball! It’s on the right hand side of the road.
Cristina
Ha yes, I always start the seasonal decor at the mantel. I love yours with the pretty green pumpkins and art sign. Your home looks beautiful dressed in these calm colors.
Sue
I love the greens as you used them. So beautiful. I’d really like to find the print “We open our home….”. Can you please tell me a source?
Doreen Cagno
It’s from Mary & Martha Home. It’s actually a tea towel that I attached to a canvas from the craft store and put a frame around it. I have a blog post that shows how I did it – https://hymnsandverses.com/2016/08/diy-wood-frame-artist-canvas.html
Joan Wettlaufer
Love this! I saw some of those green pumpkins at our local market when I went shopping for my outdoor decorations last week. It’s refreshing to see colours other than the usual oranges and browns.
Linda Charlton
I love it all but am particularly fond of the back and white fringed rug. Where did you get it? Also, did you do that tufted coffee table yourself?
Doreen Cagno
Hi, Linda. Check the Shop My Home section here on the blog any time you are looking for a source for a product – here’s the link: https://hymnsandverses.com/shop/shop-my-home And, hubs and I made the ottoman. I wrote a post about it here: https://hymnsandverses.com/2018/08/french-mattress-ottoman.html
