Oh Happy Day! It’s Spring Home Tour day! If you are here visiting from Dimples and Tangles – welcome! I just adore Jennifer’s style and love the vibrate color she uses in her decor! This year I chose a color palate featuring soft shades of pink and hints of green to bring a cottage style feel to my home. Here’s a peek at my entryway.
The “Oh Happy Day” sign is new to my Etsy Shop. And, I’ll be sharing a tutorial for the cute no-sew “bunny tail” pillow soon!
On my library table, I used my Pottery Barn pierced ceramic egg that I’ve had for a few years, and I planted a maiden hair fern in a vintage ironstone soup tureen. I purchased the concrete bunny from Target last year, but they have a similar one this year. You can find it HERE.
Of course, Sadie does find her way into my shots – usually perched on top of my gray tufted chairs bird watching! The pale pink pillow covers are from Ikea and I made the pink floral pillow covers from an Ikea Inbjudande tablecloth. It was my inspiration for this cottage style look.
Mark made me the blanket ladder propped against the wall, and I’ll be sharing those building plans soon. The pink throw is from Target. If you follow me regularly, I’m sure you noticed the new chicken crate coffee table! My friend Debbie from Refresh Restyle made one and I just loved it so much! I’ve been searching for a chicken crate ever since! I finally found one in good condition and it was transformed into a coffee table with a wood skirt and wheels at the base.
It has a more open and airy feeling than the trunk I had been using as a coffee table – making it perfect for spring and summer. I added a basket tray to hold magazines and, of course, a few pretty things for spring.
I showed Mark a picture of a barn quilt that I wanted to make as a wooden sign for above the mantel. He drew the pattern for me – because I’m not good at technical drawing like this! It would have taken me a whole day to get the pattern on the wood – but he had it done and taped off for me to paint in no time! I found the willow branches at a local farm stand. They were in a bucket of water that had frozen solid! Where are you spring? To hold the branches, I got simple clay pots from Hobby Lobby and painted them gray with a white wash.
Here’s a look at my gallery wall with some spring, cottage-style photography prints I purchased online. I had the prints enlarged at a copy center and used Ribba frames in white from Ikea. I brought my barnwood mirror into the living room and hung it underneath the shelf.
Now lets’s have a look at my dining room and kitchen.
You can see that I brought pops of pink and green into this space as well with some spring accessories in my corner cupboard.
I have my dinnerware ready to set my Easter table in this wicker tray. I had this jug filled with a mix of seeded eucalyptus and silver dollar eucalyptus in another space earlier in the year. I had it so long that it dried on the branches. I actually like how it dried and the soft green color, so I added it to the tray.
I painted my vintage high chair a coral pink shade and used a white wax to bring out the details. I love how it turned out! I found the vintage white and mint apron at a local antique shop a few years ago. It’s so light and dainty and love how it looks hanging on the high chair!
Here’s a look into the kitchen with a few dashes of spring added. I found these amazing life-like succulents at a local shop. I popped them into an ironstone sugar and creamer. They were the perfect fit. The pretty brass watering can is from Target and the little, mint-handled herb scissors are from Ikea.

Yes, we did. Here's the plans we followed, but adjusted the size to fit our space. http://www.shanty-2-chic.com/2013/12/diy-15-outdoor-bench.html

Can you tell me where you got those gray tufted chairs that are with the chicken coop coffee table?

Hi. I got those chairs at TJ Maxx a few years ago. I have seen them more recently at HomeGoods. I've tried to find them online, but haven't had any success, tho.
