Today I’m joining a group of bloggers to share some Christmas ornaments that you can craft at home in no time! Thanks to Krista from The Happy Housie for organizing this fun DIY ornament hop! My contribution is a simple deer cutout ornament with glittered antlers. This could also be used as a gift tag or as a place card for your table setting. First, thing you need is the template. You can copy and paste the template below to your computer.

Print the template on card stock. I used off white card stock, but you could really use any color you like. I like to get the 8 1/2″ x 11″ value card stock packs at Michael’s when they are on sale – that way I have it on hand for projects like this! Print out as many copies as you need and then cut out the deer figures.
Next, you need some glitter. Again, you can use any kind of glitter, but I really like the German glass glitter from Meyer Imports. For my example, I decided to try using some pink glass glitter that I had on hand and I love how they turned out! You will be seeing these on a tree in my bedroom this Christmas! I used a Martha Stewart glue pen to apply glue to just the antlers.
I like to use this glue pen for small detailed items – like the antlers on the deer. Once the glue is applied, just sprinkle with the glitter. Make sure you do this over a paper plate to catch any excess glitter. That way you can fold the plate and pour the extra glitter back into your container.
This is such an easy DIY and can even be done while watching a Hallmark Christmas Movie! Take my word for it! I hope you’ll give this deer cutout ornament a try!
Now it’s time to check out the other DIY ornaments shared today! Just follow the links below to see each one! Happy crafting!
