Fall Porch Decor Through the Years

My screen porch is my favorite place to decorate!   And, since fall is my favorite season, decorating my porch for fall is something I look forward to!

Each year that I decorate my fall porch, I try to change things up a bit!  I am somewhat limited with furniture placement, since the porch isn’t large.   I do try to keep it practical so we can actually use the porch!  But, it’s so fun to get creative in this space!  I’m currently working on my fall porch decor that I’ll be sharing on soon!  As I work on this year’s decor, I can’t help but think about the ways I’ve decorated this space in the past!  So, here’s a look at my porch through the years!

2015 Fall Porch

In 2015 I used aqua and shades of orange to decorate my porch!  The aqua framed outdoor rug inspired my porch decor that year!

I love that large Hubbard squash with the orange pumpkins and vintage Ball jar!  The “gather” pillow and that pretty knit throw were from Home Goods.

2016 Porch

In 2016 the porch went neutral!  I still had the aqua framed rug, but I focused on all the neutral fall elements!  Cornshocks in an old milk can, dried wheat and dried hydrangea, apples and walnuts.

This little centerpiece with the milk can lid is still one of my favorites!

I no longer have this three tiered stand, but it was always fun to style!  And, there’s my vintage drink cooler that is the perfect shade of aqua!

2017 Porch

In 2017 you can tell I was digging black and white with green!   I still love that color combination!

The focus was that large sign I made.  The following year I used the same sign with a green background in my living room decor!

I used a lot of white pumpkins and green oak leaves and branches that were just starting to turn!  By the end of the fall season, they were all brown and so beautiful!

I tried to keep the accessories neutral, aside from the black, white and green.  And, this was the first year I had the jute rug with a black striped border.  And, I  painted the wood furniture pieces with a charcoal gray to replace the aqua.

That mum is huge!!!  It’s my favorite color of mum – the amber brown!

2019 Fall Porch

Can you believe that I didn’t decorate my porch in 2018!  I really can’t!  I’m not sure why either.  I must have been either sick or busy with other projects???  But, here’s a look at last year’s fall porch!

The black scaredy cat DIY pillow made a comeback on last year’s porch!  And, I used more blue Hubbard squash, green acorn squash, and white pumpkins!

What’s better than a pillow that invites you to cuddle up on the old porch swing!  And, in the background is a vintage scale with another white pumpkin and an ornamental cabbage!

I brought this huge grocery scale out to the porch last fall and it held an equally huge white pumpkin!  I think that is the pumpkin whose seeds are now growing lots of large white pumpkins behind my shed!    I guess that’s what can happen when you throw your old pumpkins out behind the shed!  I can’t wait to harvest and use them this year!

Thanks for taking this stroll down Fall Porch Memory Lane!   I’ll be sharing this year’s fall porch with you soon!

I love to see how you decorate your porch each year, no matter the season. Not sure if it’s because I only have a covered patio, but dream of having a cozy screened in porch. You inspire me regardless.
