I don’t know about you, but I love to decorate with apples in the fall! Apples are readily available (just pick up some when you are at the grocery store or farmer’s market), are relatively inexpensive, and they come in several varieties/colors! Today I want to show you one of my favorite fall decorating ideas using apples: floating candle apples.
Here’s what you will need to make these floating candle apples
Six (or more) apples
Votive candles
Large, shallow container that will hold water
Chestnuts
Fill a shallow, but wide container with water and add the apples with candles. Today, I used a large, pumpkin-shaped stoneware bowl that I picked up at HomeGoods. A vintage enamelware basin would also work perfectly! And, if you are planning to use this outdoors, a galvanized bucket or tub would look amazing! The finishing touch is to add some fresh chestnuts to the water that will fill in the gaps!
Not only do these floating apples look great during the daytime, but they are incredible at night! You can use them indoors or out! I like to make these floating apples for parties in the fall or use them outdoors on Trick or Treat night (with supervision, of course)!
