The school year is coming to a close. And with that, high schools and colleges around the country are holding graduation ceremonies! Whether you have a graduate of your own this year or have received a graduation announcement in the mail, this graduation party printable might be just what you need!
I was inspired by this quote on, of all things, a journal cover that I saw at Marshall’s one day.
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
Henry David Thoreau
I immediately thought, “what a great quote this would be for a graduate”!
you can choose the size of the print
So, I designed a printable chalkboard that you can either print on your home printer and frame in an 8″ x 10″ frame or have it enlarged to make a statement at a graduation party. The size of the print shown above on my mantel is 18″ x 24″ and fits perfectly in that size frame. I had it printed to this size at Office Max. You wouldn’t even have to frame it. Instead, you could wrap the paper print around a piece of foam core board from The Dollar Tree, tape it to the back and prop the poster print against something on a tabletop or mantel.
Graduation party decorating ideas
As you can see in the photo above, I used stacks of old books and several vintage cameras to decorate for a graduation party. Some other decor ideas would be
- a globe
- compass
- maps
- arrows
- old dictionary or thesaurus
- pencils
You get the idea! Of course, I chose to use vintage items in my decor, but you wouldn’t have to!
This print could also be used as the cover photo for a graduation card that can be printed at Walgreens Photo Center.
You can find both versions (print and card) of this graduation party printable in my Free Printable Library. Just click on the version you want and a link will take you directly to the file to download and then print as you wish.
I hope that these prints will be useful to you with the upcoming graduation season! Congratulations to all the grads this year!!!

This is so cute! I'm so glad I found it through your recent post. I'm sharing your post with my followers in my "From My Neck of the Woods" Sunday round up post because I think they will love it if they are planning a grad party.
