I’m not sure if it’s because Christmas fell on Monday, but this week is simply flying by! Or, maybe it’s just me? But, I’m here today to share the Best of 2017 here at Hymns and Verses! It’s always a fun way to recap the year for me. In some ways, I feel like I didn’t accomplish as much as I wanted. I feel like I fell short of my goals this year. But, in other ways, I feel like I accomplished a ton – like my home office! Personally, it was a rough year for me. I lost my dad this past summer. Even though I knew it was coming and I didn’t think it was going to hit me hard, it really has – especially over the holidays. But, I am so thankful for the gift of life we are given that assures me that I will see him again! Hallelujah! Thank you for reading my blog – a blog is nothing without readers! And, thank you for all who took my reader survey yesterday. For those who had trouble with it, I’m so sorry. Technology is great when it works – ha, ha! Now, lets take a look at some of my favorites from 2017 here at Hymns and Verses! If you had a favorite post – let me know in the comments!

Doreen, Let me just say that I have enjoyed your blog so much this year. Although I have not responded to all the posts they have really inspired me. I bought your Welcome sign and received tons of compliments on it. Your Christmas home tour was the prettiest one I saw all season! I really appreciate all the time and effort you put in in spite of all your grief and sickness this year. You are a wonderful woman and blog friend. May God bless you in 2018. Suzanne

Im kind of teary. I saw the eggs. I did not make them and I wanted to. I saw your porches and oh how I loved each one. I felt a sadness because I loved all of your Christmas tour. It was unusual and worthy of a home tour for charity as they do in my city. I felt sad it’s already gone. I realized I haven’t had a dream for so very very long. I liked your closet makeover as well as all of your new office room. And I felt sad for you worked sooo hard on the night tour and there’s flaws in our systems. Thank you for sharing your life even during times of great personal hardship and grief. It’s such a pleasant part of my year. So share the egg photo again this spring and I think it will be a must for me to try!!

Thanks for sharing! It was fun to look at some of the posts over again. How did I ever miss those recipes when you first shared them? I can’t wait to try both the strawberry pie and the pickled eggs. You always do an amazing job, Doreen!
