Moody Autumn Table for Thanksgiving

It’s time to start thinking about Thanksgiving, especially if you are hosting like me. So, today I’m sharing a moody autumn table that would be so pretty for Thanksgiving dinner.

Moody Fall Table for Thanksgiving

I like this tablescape because the colors are a little different than the traditional fall hues of gold, brown and orange. The colorway was inspired by the burgundy toned flowers I found at a local grower. But, in November, it should be fairly easy to find burgundy flowers at the market.

In this elongated arrangement, there are dried hydrangea stems, burgundy dahlias, rose zinneas, broom corn, burgundy hibiscus foliage, and branches from my ornamental crab tree. There are also a few real plums on skewers tucked into the arrangement.

Use Vintage Finds to Set your Thanksgiving Table

Almost everything on this table was found at a thrift store. Beginning with the gorgeous vintage tablecloth that was yellowed with age. But, I soaked it in a bucket of hot water overnight with some OxyClean and by the next morning it was like new! The gold rimmed vintage wine glasses are so beautiful, and I found them at a local Goodwill! I laid the tablecloth at an angle to show off all the pretty details! The vintage china is a set that was found at another thrift store. And, I’m always looking to add to my collection of this vintage Wellesley Wedgwood pattern. It’s so gorgeous in a simple off white with an embossed pattern around the rim.

The gold flatware is from Target. It comes as a five piece set in a service for four. It’s inexpensive, and for that reason, I will probably hand wash it. But, I do like the matte gold tone of this set. Of course, I’d love to find a vintage set of gold flatware at some point. The pretty gingham napkins are also a Target find. And, you could add a simple name tag to the plums for a place card.

The gold candlesticks are ones that I’ve had for a while. But, what makes them special are these twisted candles I found at Hobby Lobby! It says the color is taupe, but they look more mauve to me. And, the wax is the same color all the way through (some taper candles have just an outer coating of the color). These candles come in many shades.

Have table decor that’s easily moved

The only other thing on the table are a few, small white pumpkins. I like a dinner table set like this, especially for Thanksgiving when there is so much food to place on the table at serving time. It’s so easy to just move the centerpiece and a few pumpkins to make room for the good stuff!!! A table set with loads of pumpkins down the center of the table is gorgeous, but it just isn’t practical in real life!

I hope you enjoyed seeing this moody autumn table all set for Thanksgiving and that it gets you thinking about ways you can make your table special for the holiday!

I got the moody look by taking my photos at the golden hour this morning. It gives a soft glow to the whole space!

Your table setting is the prettiest one I've seen this year. Everything from the tablecloth, flowers and candles are just gorgeous. But my favorite is your color scheme. It's so pretty. It's probably just me, but I am so TIRED of pumpkins!!! Thanks for giving us some inspiration that doesn't have a pumpkin in sight!

Beautiful - we all need a centerpiece that is easily movable. Disappointed that you didn’t mention the beautiful floral arrangement…BB
