Yesterday I spent the day with two little girls and it was the best! The oldest grand, who will soon be 3, had the best time having a tea party with a bear and “baking” cupcakes and pancakes with sprinkles! And, the youngest, almost 1 year, played with toys and giggled while rocking on a sheep! But, one thing they were able to do together was listen to stories in the reading nook with fall books.
After our beach vacation, I put away all of the summer beach decor in the nursery and all of the ocean themed books in the reading nook. And, then I brought out the fall things along with all of the fall books. And, it’s been so fun to see Daphne see all of these things in a new light now that she is a year older! It’s like it’s all brand new! And, she loved seeing all of the new books on display in the reading nook! I think we read every single one, multiple times!
I kept the fall decor pretty much the same as last year. And, I store all the seasonal decor and books for this room in reading nook storage bench. It’s the perfect size to store things right there. Right now this room is obviously very much a little girl’s room. But, next week we find out what the gender is for our next grand and if a boy, well, I’ll be thinking about how to make this little space more gender neutral!
I shared the nursery styled for fall originally in 2020, and I’m bringing it back for today’s Home and Decor Encore. And, in that post I also shared the reading nook with fall books and included sources for all of the books. This little spot is truly one of my favorite things we’ve done in our house because it’s something Mark and I can enjoy with our grands. I hope it inspires you to create a little reading nook in a closet space in your home!
