Summer Living Room with Botanical Prints and Live Plants

Have you noticed the love for the fiddle leaf fig and other house plants on your favorite HGTV design shows, in print, and online?  Live plants just brighten up a space!    The photo below is from my living room last summer.  Oh, I am so tempted to just replicate the look this year.  It is one of my very favorite styled rooms to date and the reason I love it so much is the life brought into the space by live plants – a fiddle leaf fig plant in the corner, ferns, Solomon’s Seal, and Hosta cuttings from my garden on the mantel, and a classic fern in a white crock.  Here is a close-up view of the mantel showing these simple glass vases I picked up from thrift stores and HomeGoods.  This look is simple, yet high in style at the same time!

Now that we’ve talked about the obvious – live plants.  How about botanical designs  in fabric. Below is a collection of affordable pillows that are available for sale online.  I’ve listed the sellers below.

Botanical Artwork

Now, let’s look at artwork for the home.  I love to use botanical artwork in my home and most of it is DIY.  Here are a few examples of designs I’ve created to use in my decor.   These prints (and more) are available to download in my FREE Printable Library.

Using Shade Loving Perennials in Your Decor - Hymns and Verses

Monday 11th of July 2016

[…] But, as I surveyed the damage this weekend, one thing that made me smile was the sight of my shade loving perennials. Shade loving perennials go strong into early fall!  And, they need very little attention.   Best of all, they look lovely when brought indoors to make an arrangement.  I did this last year on my mantel and absolutely loved it – if you missed that post, you can see it HERE. Now what would be wrong with replicating that livingroom???? I love it. You change decor so quickly that no one would remember!!! But I too never do things the same. Sometimes I'm glad I have photos to remind me of things I've done and I'll do a few of the ideas and change up a couple. But it reminds me of what I loved in a room that one year. Last year I gathered all my clear vases I'd been given over the years and arranged them in a pleasing manner on a tray from Magnolia market. I went to my yard and picked a variety of greenery from variegated to a lime green. I turned the light on in the bookcase and the look was gorgeous. Just like yours is as well. And it cost not a penny when temps were sooo hot nothing much was blooming. I'm curious. Can you do it??? Can you repeat this room??!!!! ??????

That is the question, Gwen!!! I may use the same botanical prints, but make them as charts instead of framing. I'm loving pink and green this year! What you described sounds beautiful! Do you live near Magnolia Market or did you purchase the tray online? I have yet to order from their online shop, but visiting Waco and Magnolia Market is on hubs and my bucket list!!!
