Hi, Friends! Welcome to Part 2 of my 2017 Christmas Home Tour. I’m also sharing today’s tour at the link party for Jennifer Rizzo’s Holiday Housewalk. If you haven’t seen this year’s Holiday Housewalk, click HERE – it’s a yearly event that you don’t want to miss!
Now, let’s begin today’s tour. First up is my dining room and kitchen.
Dining Room & Kitchen
If you follow me here, you know that this past year I’ve been adding more black into my spaces. I love the contrast of the light and dark and I continued that look with my Christmas decor this year by using a lot of black, white, and green. This is a huge departure for me since I normally love to decorate at Christmastime with traditional red and white.
One thing that I always do is mix faux greens with real. In this arrangement I added some fresh cedar branches to the faux to give it some life.
Touches of green glass adds a pop of color to the black and white theme. The green glass jars on the table were just $1 at Michael’s. The green glass goblets are vintage.
I saw these plates at Pier 1 early in the season and got them when they were on sale. I love the classic look and know I’ll use them in years to come.
Instead of a traditional tablecloth, I used a cozy black and white plaid throw with fun fringes at the ends.
I tried to keep the kitchen cart less busy because I’ll be using that space for serving cookies, drinks, etc.
Living Room
I found this rug on Wayfair and wow, what a difference it makes in this space. It really completes the look I was going for.
Again, this space continues the black and white theme with pops of green and a little gold sparkle!
The mantel is almost always the first thing I decorate. It sets a tone for the rest of my decor. This year I kept it simple with faux and real greens, some twinkle lights, black candlesticks, and chunky knit stockings and garland.
I picked up this old door this past summer and it’s been waiting for months to be used in some way. Since I decided to move my Christmas tree to a different spot this year, I brought the door in to add some bright contrast to the dark wood of the library table. And, a green wreath with gingham ribbon looks great against the old white door!
In this shot you can get a glimpse of the black pom pom trim I added to inexpensive Ikea curtains.
We went to the tree farm and picked out this Frazer fir. It had a bird’s nest nestled in the branches and I had the tree farm leave it there for me. A real treat is much more of a challenge to decorate, but I do love the scent and charm of a real tree with all its imperfections.
Whether people are coming or going, it’s always nice to have a little Christmas at your entryway.
Of course, Sadie had to make a guest appearance in the tour. She is intently watching another cat outside our front door that I had open for this shot!
Screen Porch
My screen porch is one of my favorite places to decorate seasonally. The main element is this sign I made with words from O Holy Night. You really can’t tell, but the dots on the sign are lighted – like stars on the black background. I’ll be sharing a tutorial to make this sign soon.
Then, Mark hung these wooden stars from hooks in the beams. Then, I just gathered some fresh greens, lanterns, etc. to complete the cozy look. I’ll be sharing more details on the porch soon.
If you missed Part One of my Christmas home tour, I shared my bedroom all dressed up for the holidays. You can see it HERE.

And, I also shared my new home office with a little seasonal decor.

[…] I also like to bring out this old ice chest for decor. I use it a lot in the summer, but it’s also a nice addition at Christmas because it’s the perfect Christmas red! The galvanized basket is holding faux snowballs that I purchased in the Target Dollar Spot last year. I used them as ornaments on my tree last Christmas. You can see my tree with them HERE. […]

Can you please tell me, are your buffalo check curtains navy blue or black? I have seen them hanging in previous posts from a little while back hanging in your family room. I am trying to decide between the two colors. Seems most use black but I am wanting to purchase a navy blue chair and not sure how that would look again black check.
