Beach Vacation Packing List

June 29, 2020 by Hymns and Verses 20 Comments

Today, I wanted to share some things that we had (or wish we had) on our recent beach vacation. And, made you a handy beach vacation packing list that you can print to make sure you have everything you need for your next beach vacation!

I also created a Beach Essentials Page on my Amazon Storefront where I linked 20+ of my favorite beach must haves!   If you are working through your Beach Vacation Packing List and don’t have something on the list, you can find there!

*This post contains some affiliate links.  Please see my full disclosure statement.

There’s everything from the suncreen we use and my everyday sunscreen primer to quality flip flops, since my Old Navy flip flops bit the dust on our very first day!

Following are a few of the items that are on my beach vacation packing list that I think you’ll want to check out!

SPORT BRELLA

First, is this Sport Brella.  Two of my older boys and wives had these and Mark and I wished we had our own (and, we will have ours for our next beach trip)!    It comes in a carrying bag that is no bigger than a regular beach umbrella bag.  And, it’s really easy to set up!  But, the best part is that is provides some shelter from the wind!  It was super windy the week we were at the beach and we could not keep our beach umbrella up, even with an anchor!   And, this Sport Brella was really perfect for the baby giving her shelter from the wind and the sun.

SPIKEBALL

I Included some beach activities on my Amazon shop page.  Most are for older kids/adults, because that’s the stage of life I’m in!  Spikeball was one game that we saw people playing a lot on the beach this year!  We purchased this game for one of our sons a few years ago, but I didn’t even think of it as a beach game.  But, it comes with a carry bag, which makes it easy to transport.  And, that makes it a perfect beach or summer picnic game!   The fact that we saw so many playing this game is a testament that it’s fun!

COMPACT WATERPROOF BINOCULARS

When Mark isn’t in the water, he loves to sit in his beach chair and search the coastline with binoculars.  These Bushnell binoculars are compact and waterproof, which make them a great option at the beach!  I included them because I can’t tell you the number of years I forgot to pack the binoculars and he was disappointed!

PORTABLE STEAMER

This is a must have for me on any vacation!  I don’t like wearing wrinkled clothes!  Some don’t mind, but I do!  Some beach rentals or hotels have irons and ironing boards, but not all.  So, I’ve started packing a portable steamer!  This is a good one!  I have an older model and it really puts off a good amount of steam to get all the wrinkles out of your clothes!

THE BEACHCOMBER’S COMPANION

As I was compiling my beach vacation packing list, I stumbled across this little book!  And, ordered it for our next beach trip!  If you like to walk the shoreline looking for treasures, this guide book is for you!  And, it has such pretty illustrations too!  And, it’s a small book that you can easily tuck into your beach bag!

I really could go on and on sharing some of the amazing things that are on my packing list.  Some really unique and inexpensive items that can make your beach vacation easier!  Like sand cup holders, a waterproof cell phone case, and the absolute best sunburn relief spray!

PRINTABLE PACKING LIST

So, I’d love to know – Are you headed to the beach this summer?  If so, which beach?  We go to the Jersey shore, specifically, Ocean City, NJ.  We’ve been going there since the kiddos were babies!  I hope you liked this round up and the printable!

      Hi, Anita.

I love that coverup! I got it earlier in the year from American Eagle (online). It came in white and the blue stripe that I have. Unfortunately, it’s currently sold out. You could check their website periodically in case they restock it!

Wish I had this list 3 weeks ago!! I went to the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida the week before last. What a blessing of refreshment that was, after a very stressful past few months!
The weather was perfect, the sand was white powder, & the water was clear aqua! Ahhh!!!
I need one of those umbrella shelters! Looks like a great combination of ease & functionality!

We love Ocean City also. We stayed at 49th and Asbury all through my years of growing up… great memories. Enjoy!

Hi, Susan! It’s so family friendly! We used to stay down that way, but recently started staying on the northern end within walking distance to the boardwalk in quiet neighborhoods! It’s nice to just walk down for ice cream or a bike ride on the boards!

Such a cute little granddaughter. We have a 2 year old granddaughter and she is such a joy. I tend to take photos of her and her “Pops” because I am behind the camera but it is important to have photos of her with me as well. Glad you are doing the same.

Of all the pictures you have posted on your blog, the beach photo with you holding your beautiful granddaughter is the best. You look happy as a clam!

Thank you for the 2 Chronicles 7:14 printable. It is the prayer that has been continually on my lips since C-19, and now I will have a pretty little framed print of it for the July 4th Holiday.

Hi Doreen… going to the Outer Banks, NC with our daughter and her extended family in a few weeks. Since we rented a house on the beach many of the things on your list are provided but others are a must. Can’t wait!
I do receive your emails but don’t recall seeing a picture with your granddaughter either? Pinterest has made a lot of changes to my account over the years and not necessarily for the better.
    Thanks for sharing.
