If you want your Christmas home to be unique and set apart from all the rest, why not consider adding some vintage home decor into your holiday decorations!
You know that I love to incorporate vintage items into my home. I love vintage or antique items because of their story, the history behind the piece, and their character. Of course, there are replicas for vintage or antique items. But, why not take your time and curate a collection of vintage home decor pieces. I promise that taking your time to build a collection over the years is much more fun that the instant gratification of buying something from a big box store!
Over the years, I’ve collected decor items from vintage and antique shops to mix in with pieces that I buy at HomeGoods or Target, for example. I think these items are so much more interesting and they don’t really go out of style! So, I may purchase some trendy items, those are typically the things that I don’t end up holding on to year after year.
One of my biggest regrets is not asking to keep some of my grandmother’s Christmas decorations when the farmhouse was sold. All those Shiny Brite ornaments and the little light up paper houses that sat under the tree were sold with the farmhouse! I have such fond memories of my grandmother setting them up each year with great care. I do have some Shiny Brite ornaments, but I’d love to expand on that collection! For today’s Home and Decor Encore, I’m sharing a post that I originally wrote in 2015. I updated it with some fresh content and photos vintage home decor that I like to use at Christmastime! You can see the entire post by clicking on the BOLD title above the photo below!
