Downtown Lititz in the Snow at Christmas

As promised, I went out yesterday early evening, and then a little later when it was dark, to takes some photos of downtown Lititz in the snow.  Lititz is such a charming small town any time of year, but at Christmastime the buildings and shops are all decorated and it’s stunning!  If you’d like to learn more about one of America’s “Coolest Small Towns” or plan a visit, check out this page.  There are three main areas of Lititz that I’ll share.

Downtown Lititz in the Snow

LITITZ MORAVIAN CHURCH

Lititz Moravian Church at Christmastime in the Snow
The Moravian people settled in Lititz as early as the mid 1700’s.   The Moravian’s were a pious people who came to the colonies to escape religious persecution.  The Lititz Moravian Church is so beautiful any time of year, but especially with a blanket of snow and simple evergreen wreaths on the front doors.  The church steeple has a large Moravian star that just glows when lit at night.  There are many quaint shops on Main Street Lititz.

Aren’t these nutcrackers amazing!  I love how they stand guard over this little shopfront!

And how about these metal sculptures!  Simply amazing!

LITITZ SPRINGS PARK

Snow Covered Gazebo in Lititz Springs Park

Isn’t the park gazebo pretty all covered in snow!  This red trolley sits at the entrance to the park and is a fun spot for families to take Christmas photos!

Red Caboose at Christmas

This insurance office building’s architecture is stunning on any day!  It’s just gorgeous with the pretty lights in the trees, candles in the windows, and that entry!  I love the lighted garland around the arch with the wreaths on the white doors!  Those bright red bows just pop!

Mark and I really had a great time walking around downtown Lititz in the snow.  Thanks for coming along!  And, if you’d like to see more of Lititz, I have a few more posts you might enjoy!

Oh, thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures! While we have never been to Lititz for Christmas, we were there for July 4th one year (some time ago) and the fireworks display was spectacular. We'll have to see if we can schedule a visit for the holidays possibly next year.

Hi, Doreen! So glad I found your blog with your beautiful pictures of one of my all-time favorite towns--lovely Lititz. I live next to Longwood Gardens, so we are practically neighbors lol! We so enjoy all our day-trips to Lancaster County, and Lititz is certainly it's crown jewel. Your previous snow pictures are wonderful, and truly depict the peaceful beauty of Lititz. Thanks for sharing.

Gosh, Doreen, these photos are beautiful! Thanks for sharing your Winter scenes. Palm trees and green grass are year round here, so it's nice to see the change of seasons and a Winter wonderland, even if via others' photos. I just wanted to let you know that I gave you a shout out on my blog the other day. I made your Peppermint white chocolate spoons at Christmas. I've been enjoying some of them in my coffee! They were delicious!Liz
