Mother’s Day Gardening Gifts

May 3, 2021 by Hymns and Verses 3 Comments

A curated collection of Mother’s Day Gardening Gifts

I’ve been spending a lot of time outdoors this year working on our landscape.  There’s so much that we want to do and it all doesn’t happen overnight!  But, working outdoors in our garden or flower beds, is so therapeutic for me!   There’s definitely been a renewed interest in gardening in the past few years.

And, it’s not just the older generation. Many millennials are heading to the greenhouse and planting gardens.  So, I thought I would put together a some gardening gift ideas since Mother’s Day is just days away!  And, these Mother’s Day gardening gifts include some things that I own and use and some that I would love to have (and quite possibly put in my cart)!

Books for the Gardener

I think a beautiful book with some pretty garden gloves would make a fantastic gift for the gardener!  Here are some books that I own and can highly recommend!

Floret Farm’s Cut Flower Garden

This book was on my Christmas list this year and I received it as a gift from my youngest!  It did not disappoint.  One of my gardening goals is to grow more cut flowers to make arrangements!  This book is gorgeous and inspirational, but is also full of detailed information!  I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to grow flowers!

Terrain:  Ideas and Inspiration for Decorating the Home and Garden

I’m so lucky to live just an hour away from Terrain in Glenn Mills, PA, and it’s a treat to visit no matter the season!   The book is full of beautiful photography that inspires!   This book was also gifted to me and I refer to it often for inspiration!

Kitchen Garden Revival

I purchased this book with the hopes of creating our own kitchen garden this spring!   But, I feel like I’m a bit behind already and have a lot on my plate this year, so I’m putting this project off until next spring!   But, this book has everything you need to know to create, plant, and grow your own kitchen garden!  Even if you don’t have a lot of space, this book shows you how it is possible to grow your own food!  It’s another book that has inspired me, and I highly recommend it!

Beatrix Potter’s Gardening Life:  The plants and places that inspired the classic children’s tales

Another book that I own and love.  For any Beatrix Potter fans or those who love reading about English gardens of days gone by!

The next two books are ones that I found while searching for gardening gifts.  They caught my attention and they are both in my cart!

The Gardener’s Bed Book

This book was first published in 1929 and is full of short essays that are meant to be read at night before bed!  From description:  A charming and mischievously funny companion to curl up with, Wright ranges comfortably—and lyrically—from giving gardening advice to meditating on such topics as antique collecting and travel, great literature and architecture.

The Mindful Gardener:  A Journal

This is another book that I discovered while I was searching for gardening gifts.  It’s a pretty journal for the gardener.   I’ve wanted a place to document the plants that I’ve tried and how my garden has changed over the years.  There are a lot of gardening journals, but I was really drawn to this pretty hardcover book!

More mother’s day Gardening Gifts

Here’s my curated collection of gardening gifts that I think any gardener would love to receive.  And, they are gifts that would be appreciated by a beginning gardener as well as an experienced gardener!

I hope that you find this post useful as you plan for Mother’s Day this coming week.  And, as a resource for year round gifting for anyone who loves to spend time in the garden!

And, if you are looking for a DIY gardening project for your Mom, how about these kitchen herb garden plants that are planted in pretty kitchen collanders.

What a thoughtful list! I own a couple of these books already but I think one or two of the others you’ve presented will be a great addition! Happy Gardening and have a lovely Mother’s Day!

So reading your suggestions, I quickly ordered the book Terrain.
I have to admit it is a “to me”, “from me” gift.
My Birthday falling on Mother’s Day this year…what better reason 😃
It now resides at my house! Arrived today from Indigo/Chapters in Canada.
    Happy Gardening indeed.
