Porch Design Through the Years

Let’s take a walk down memory lane and see all the different porch design styles I’ve used to decorate my screen porch for summer!

It’s finally feeling like spring here in Pennsylvania and that means I need to get my screen porch ready for the spring/summer season!  It’s so fun to decorate this space because I can be more eclectic with my choices!  I have a design plan in my head and I’ll be sharing it more next week.  But, for today, I thought it might be fun to take a look back at my summer screen porch design through the years!  It’s really an eclectic mix!

bold pattern porch design

Let’s begin in 2014 when I went DIY crazy!  I made bold cross curtains from drop cloths, a striped rug from a drop cloth, and painted furniture too!

cottage style design

Then in 2015 I went with a cottage style with pale shades of aqua and a peachy pink!

Vintage Patriotic Porch

In 2016 I used a lot of fun vintage elements that I found thrifting!  And, this red, white and blue design was perfect for the summertime holidays!

boho design

In 2017 I spent a lot of time making macrame curtains that you can barely see in the photos!  But, they were so cute.   And, I used a lot of black and white with some natural elements that year for a more boho vibe.

vintage red and white

In 2018, I went back to my roots with red and white and some galvanized serving pieces.  Plus, I added in some vintage elements including the Summertime sign that I made from an old cabinet door.

SUMMER PASTELS

In 2019 my screen porch was a mix of summery pastels.  It was definitely prettier in person.

BLUE AND WHITE SUMMER PORCH

2020 was the year I used shades of blue and white on my summer screen porch. Even though I love blue, I rarely use it in my decor.

COZY SUMMER PORCH

Last year, I kept things simple and cozy with plants, wicker and rattan and vintage inspired accessories.

Now, let’s have some fun!  I’d love to hear which is your favorite design!   Let me know in the comments below!

I always love your porch designs. I loved the red one with the red cooler. It was so nostalgia. That Boho one looks like it could be for 2020!,, and the bright colored one is my color scheme right now. What will you choose to do I wonder?!! I’m looking forward to seeing it.

The Vintage Red and White is my favorite look for your screened porch. I can't wait to see what you do this year!

I love all of them! I look forward to seeing your porch every year. I do something different every year on my front wrap around porch, but my screened in porch in the back stays the same for the most part. Can't wait to see what you do this year!

I thought it would be easy to choose, because I love Cottage--but when I went back and looked at each original post, I really liked each one! If I had to choose only one, I'd choose the Cottage, but the Vintage Patriotic is a close second. I don't have a lovely screened porch, but just changed out the shelves in my living room for Memorial Day and will leave it Red, White and Blue through the 4th of July; then just switch over to summertime.
